  1. This is an optional field.  Enter the coin catalog number
  2. from your favorite coin catalog.
  3. Enter any comments you would like to make about this coin.  
  4. You can enter up to 1
  5.  characters of text.
  6. Enter the coin's condition with the menu provided. The
  7. choices are:
  8.  Uncircultated
  9. perfect new condition
  10.  Extremely Fine
  11. extremely fine condition
  12.  Very Fine
  13. very fine condition
  14.  Fine
  15. fine condition
  16.  Very Good
  17. very good condition
  18.  Good
  19. good condition
  20.  Fair
  21. badly worn condition
  22.  Poor
  23. bent,corroded condition
  24. Note that judging a coin's condition can be anywhere betw-  
  25. een a science and a medieval art.  It's your coin album
  26. so use the method your best at.
  27.  This menu lets you select a condition of which all coins
  28.  of that condition will be printed.  For example, select
  29.  "Uncirculated" to get all Uncirculated Coins.
  30.  Press <ESCAPE> to abort.
  31. Enter the coin's issuing country.  I recommend if you use
  32. abbreviations, use them all the time.  Do not mix abbrevia- 
  33. tions and regular country names.  For countries that do not 
  34. exist today, enter the country name as it existed then.
  35.  Food for thought:  Consistency is the key to simpilicity.  
  36. Enter the date the coin was acquired. Use the format
  37. MM/DD/YY; for example, to enter January 15, 1989, enter
  38. 1/15/89 or 01/15/89.
  39. Enter the date the stamp was added to your collection in the
  40. form MM/DD/YY; for example, say you bought a stamp on
  41. September 12,1989, this would be entered as 9/12/89.
  42. Welcome to the WORLD COIN ALBUM! This program organizes your coin collection
  43. in an easy to use electronic database.  You may enter thousands of coins
  44. and yet locate any  coin's data instantly.  Customized versions can be
  45. programmed for a fee.  Press <F1> anywhere in the program for help.  Please 
  46. read COIN.DOC as it gives information on how to use the program.  This
  47. program was written for the beginner to advanced coin collector who yearns  
  48. to better organize his/her coin collection.  You don't have to know any
  49. programming or be a computer whiz with a PhD.  That is not who the program  
  50. was written for.  It is for the computer user in office or home that uses
  51. the computer as a tool.  Overall, I have tried to make a very complicated

  61. Choose the stamp's issue month from the menu.  Use the
  62. cursor keys to pick the month.  If you don't know the month 
  63. choose the 1st menu option '
  64. Enter the issue value.  This is value of coin as shown on
  65. the coin. You may enter the denomination (eg. 5 francs or $)
  66. Enter the year the coin was issued.  This is usually loc-
  67. ated on the coin.
  68. Enter the coin's market value.  This is what the coin is
  69. worth if you sold it.  Information on market value can be
  70. found in coin catalogs and magazines.
  71.   Enter the metal that the coin is made of, for example,
  72.   95% gold 5%copper, etc.)
  73. Enter the quantity of coins that you have.
  74. Enter one of the following choices from the menu:
  75.  Circulated
  76. coin is in circulation
  77.  Uncirculated
  78. coin is out of circulation
  79.  Obsolete
  80. coin is outdated
  81. Use the cursor keys to select one of the above from
  82. the menu.
  83. COIN COUNTRY LIST
  84. The coin country list is a "table" listing the coin's country and other  
  85. information for quick viewing.  Below is a list of keys you may use:
  86. to add a coin to your collection (add a record)
  87. to delete a coin from your collection (delete a record)
  88. Enter
  89. to change the information for that coin (edit a record)
  90. to quit and return to DOS
  91. to print coins on condition of coins (eg. all Fine Coins)
  92. to print all your coins on the printer (device=LPT1)
  93. to print your coins of one country use the cursor keys to
  94. place the highlite bar on the country you want to print
  95. Note: this is available only in the registered version
  96. to enter a new password
  97. Cursor keys,PgUp,PgDn
  98. used to navigate in the list
  99. Ctrl PgUp,Ctrl PgDn
  100. go to beginning or end of list
  101. The COUNTRY LOCATOR allows you to type one or more letters of the country
  102. and the highlite bar in the coin country list will position itself on the
  103. country.  For example, if you wanted to go to Germany, type 'G' or "Ge",etc.
  104. You must have added the coin previously to use this feature.  If the
  105. country is not in the list table then the country locator will go to the
  106. closest country alphabetically.  This feature is especially helpful when you
  107. have thousands of coins in your collection and saves you from using the
  108. cursor and PgDn keys.
  109. Enter an optional weight of the coin.
